Rinnosuke walk Kourindou, an antique shop near the Forest of Magic. He chose this location in the hope that both men and non-human potential customers will be visited, but the plan failed miserably as his shop was always quiet, with the exception of some of the daily "noise".
What Rinnosuke actually still not known. His appearance is that of a human being, but the official story says that he has lived several times longer than Reimu. His appearance has not changed since Marisa was a small child, at least. It also said that he knew about the descendants of previous Hakurei, and the formation of Temple Hakurei and objectives.
Rinnosuke known for the great interest in the outside world, and using a collection of items from the outside world (which does not accidentally slip over the limit) as the lineup of his shop. With the recognition ability, he can determine the name and purpose of each item is familiar, but he still could not say how they are used. Because of the lack of knowledge about the outside world and modern science, he often ends up to draw conclusions about the weird stuff.
Rinnosuke seems he described only humanoid that has been introduced in the Touhou series so far.
Rinnosuke was the one who gives Marisa Mini-Hakkero. He stated that he is his own invention and that the miracle join in Gensokyo and technology from the outside world (which he refers to as a form of magic beyond do not need spiritual power). He also repaired and improved Mini-Hakkero at least once.
